Dancer tells of party with ‘greasy-handed’ Berlusconi

A FORMER actress has described a New Year’s Eve party featuring 50 young women at Silvio Berlusconi’s villa in Sardinia. She alleged that the guests “performed” for the Italian prime minister, danced, kissed their host, undressed and “threw themselves into the pool almost naked”. The 24-year-old woman from Naples, named only as “Sandra”, is quoted in a new book entitled Papi: A Political Scandal to be published in Italy tomorrow. Several young women have said they called Berlusconi, 72, “Papi (Daddy)” as a mark of affection. The book, by journalists Peter Gomez, Marco Lillo and Marco Travaglio, tracks recent scandals including the charge by Berlusconi’s estranged wife, Veronica Lario, that he “frequents underage girls”, and the allegation by Patrizia D’Addario, a prostitute, that she spent the night of President Barack Obama’s election at his Rome residence. Berlusconi has denied the allegations. Sandra, a nightclub dancer who dreamt of a career in show business, says in the book that she was telephoned by an actress at the end of 2007 and offered £1,290 to attend a New Year’s Eve party on Sardinia’s Emerald coast.
